Caring, Sharing, and Enjoying Life!

With our Senior population increasing, community involvement is essential for the care of our elders.  LCSeniors.com is a complete resource center for Seniors living in Lake County.  LCSeniors.com is dedicated to bringing resources together for the county’s senior centers and support services.

With State and Federal resources being cut it is becoming apparent that more assistance from the local community is needed.  We would like to bring more awareness to the needs of seniors in our community.  And perhaps by becoming aware, we can all give just a little in some way to help the ones in our community that have already put in their time.  There are individual senior centers in nearly every city and town in Lake County; For contact information click here: Senior Centers

LCSeniors.com provides a central location to show resources and services provided to seniors in our area.  The  website lists references such as a Senior Resource Directory.  The resource directory has phone numbers and links to agencies from the American Cancer Society to End-of-Life Resources.  The site provides contact information for all of our local Senior Centers, and you can also find information on local happenings that support and bring joy and comfort to our seniors.

If the internet is not your thing, you may want to share with your family that “Senior Moments” airs on our local radio station KPFZ 88.1 on the FM dial, Thursdays at 5pm and repeated at 11pm.  This radio show is hosted by Buck Bouker discussing issues affecting Seniors Citizens, local events, and our county’s senior centers.  Tune in, call in, hear what’s going on and be heard!  KPFZ is on the web: kpfz.org and a social network for the station is found here: kpfz881.ning.com

SOS

Lakeport Senior Center is hosting a “Save Our Services(S.O.S.) pledge drive.  Another round of budget cuts has put Lakeport Senior Center in danger of closing the doors and stopping vital services to the seniors in our community, which includes Meals on Wheels.

Meals on Wheels serves hot meals and personal contact to homebound seniors that rely on them.  The past few years have seen an increase in cost and number of meals delivered, but the budget has been cut.

The S.O.S. pledge drive has a goal of raising $30,000.  Please consider a donation or monthly pledge and help Save Our Services!

If you are interested in learning more about ways to get involved, please contact Senior Support Services by calling (707) 275-3513, emailing onager.sss@sbcglobal.net, or visit any of Lake County’s senior centers.
